FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Which city do we support and service?
We are currently working in partnership with Tout est Grace, a Kinshasa-based health clinic. We next plan to expand our services to other clinics in Kongo-Central.
Are we open to supporting and providing service at other cities?
Yes, our long-term goal is to improve the health of all Congolese mothers, which will involve supporting clinics, hospitals and initiatives in different cities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
What is the total cost of prenatal care services per woman?
Between initial and follow up antenatal care (ANC) appointments and delivery, the cost of prenatal care services per woman at Tout est Grace is around sixty dollars. This cost is covered by our voucher program.
How much do we need to continue our work?
It is hard to put a number for how much we need. To be able to support care for fifty women through the voucher program, about three thousand dollars is needed. This amount will change as we expand and partner with other clinics.
We are also committed to donating needed equipment and developing educational outreach teams to complement the voucher program. Depending on the needs per clinic, the amount needed to support these will vary.
How can you help?
We are able to continue our work with support from different individuals and entities. If you are part of or represent a particular entity that could partner with us, you can email us at info@elakadrc.com.
If you would like to help us as an individual, you can donate to one of our programs. Anything, even one dollar, will be greatly appreciated and will be helping to increase access to healthcare for mothers and children in the DRC.
We also share our work as much as possible through social media. You can help by following us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and sharing about what we do.
