Health Matters in the DRC and the African World

October 2022 – Our founder Bibi Ndala served as the moderator for the Friends of the Congo Health Forum. Panelists addressed challenges of healthcare in the DRC and throughout the African world. They presented state and non-state options for addressing overwhelming need of the masses of Africans.

Women-Led Change in Congo

March 2022 – Our founder Bibi Ndala participated in the Congolese Studies Association Women-Led Change in Congo to speak about ELAKA’s efforts in reducing maternal mortality. The event served as a space to celebrate Congolese women in the Diaspora who are also changemakers in DRC.

NGO CSW65 Virtual Forum

March 2021 – Our chairwoman Bibi Ndala presented on “Empowering Women of the Congo DRC Through Education and Training for Equality” at the 65th NGO Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Virtual Forum.

CDIS Leaders 2020

February 2021 – Our founder Bibi Ndala was selected as a Congolese Diaspora Impact Summit (CDIS) Leader due to her contribution in public health, specifically in maternal and newborn health, through ELAKA.

The Congolese Women’s Forum

September 2020 – Our partner organization Bisonabiso held a panel discussion on career, community and culture as well as a fundraising brunch for ELAKA. Our founder Bibi Ndala served as moderator for the Forum.

COMBATING COVID-19 FROM NEW YORK TO THE CONGO: AN INTERVIEW WITH BIBI NDALA

April 2020 – Our chairwoman Bibi Ndala was interviewed by the organization Friends of the Congo on her experience as a research scientist at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Public Health Laboratory during the COVID-19 pandemic.
